Tails lay on his bed, crying. He had suffered greatly since that day… when he shot Cosmo…
He stood up. He slowly walked outside, and looked at the stars. He remembered Cosmo.
“Cosmo… Why did you have to leave me?”
He had spoken very little to his friends since the tragedy, the death of Cosmo. He felt lonely knowing that he would never see her again…
Would she?
Tails had no idea that Cosmo had survived…

The sun was setting in the sky of a faraway world. There was a salty scent in the air. And on the edge of the beach, a young plant-like girl lay.
She slowly woke up, moaning a bit as she did so. Then, she remembered.
“What happened? Where- where am I? And what happened to the others? To Tails…?”
She looked around, but there was no one in sight. She then spotted something… a green glow…
“A Chaos Emerald!”
She slowly picked it up, and she remembered how Sonic had used them to transform…
“But if he doesn’t have it, and he had it… maybe he…” The mere thought filled her eyes with tears. “What about the others? No… they can’t be… Tails…”
She fell to the ground, crying. She didn’t want to believe that her friends, especially Tails, could be dead. Eventually, she calmed down. She knew that she could not survive without help. She decided to find somewhere to stay.

There was a knock on the door. Tails didn’t want to open.
“Tails? You home?”
“Go away.”
“Tails” said Sonic “It’s been a month now. You can’t hide forever. Cosmo’s dead, and you have to accept it.”
“SHUT UP!!!” Tails shouted as hard as he could.
Sonic was shocked. “Well, I’ll… uh… go away…”
Tails felt bad for yelling at Sonic. He decided to go cool down for a bit. He grabbed the flower that he had grown from Cosmo’s seed and took it with him.
He walked for some time, until he found a young raccoon girl of about 9 years old who was working on a ship. He watched her work on the ship until she noticed him.
Oh. Hello, mate!
Uh… hi. What are you doing?
“I’m working on this Spatial vessel.”
“Spatial vessel?”
“They’re like the ships they had in the sea before inventing the steam engines, only that they’re used as spaceships.”
“Oh, I see. What do you want to do with that?”
“I’m going to become a pirate, mate. I will be the captain of this ship.”
“Pirate? In space? That sounds cool.”
“Yes, it does. I assume you’d like to join.”
“I’d love too!”
“Then start with your name, mate. I’m Marine. Who are you?”
“My name’s Miles.”
“Miles? That’s a funny name, mate.”
”Yeah, but my friends call me Tails.”
“That’s nicer. Want to work on this baby?”
“Sure!”

Cosmo arrived at an inn. She felt lonely as she watched the many people inside. She looked around and saw many people, but none of them looked friendly. She looked for somewhere to sit, but all the seats were taken.
“Why aren’t there any places to sit?”
“You can sit here if you want” said a friendly and strangely familiar voice.
Cosmo turned around, and saw a boy of about 10 years of age facing her. When she looked at him closely, she nearly fainted, for she had realized that he was a seedarian.
“But I thought…”
“I know” the boy said. “Apparently I was wrong too.”
“…How…?” Cosmo was speechless.
“According to my adopted father, he found me when I was still a seed. I eventually found out about my species, and” he lowered his voice slightly “about the Metarex.”
“Yes…” Cosmo remembered them clearly. “That brings horrible memories…”
“I wouldn’t know. All I know is that my real parents were called Earthia and Lucas.” The boy said.
Cosmo really fainted this time.

She awoke after the boy splashed her with water a few times. She was still surprised by what he had said. He then asked: “Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Better than ever, in fact.”
“Why?”
“Because my parents were also named Earthia and Lucas!”
The boy was shocked. “I can’t believe it.”
“Jack! Come here! I need you!” someone shouted.
“That’s my father!”
The boy ran towards a man who looked like a cross between a monkey and a mongoose. Cosmo was curious, and went towards him as well.
“Here, count these gold coins for me, Jack.”
“Okay dad.”
The man looked at Cosmo. “Who’s this? And why does she look like you?” he said in a rough pirate voice.
Jack sighed and said “because she’s my sister.”
The man looked calm. “Didn’t you say you were the last of your species?”
“I was wrong.”
“Whatever. What’s your name, mate?
“Cosmo.”
“Well, nice to meet you Cosmo.” He then paused, and started talking. “What do you know about being a pirate?”
“Nothing, sir.”
“Would you like to be one?”
Cosmo hesitated. She did not like the idea of being a pirate, yet she felt that she had nothing to lose.
“Okay.”
Good for you. There aren’t many female pirates ya know. It might feel a bit lonely, but you’ll get used to it. Savvy?

Tails and Marine were finished with the Ship, and they were thinking of a name.
“How about the “White Star”?” Marine suggested.
“No, that was a company” Tails answered.
“Oh…”
“Maybe the “Interceptor”?” Tails asked.
“No, I think the “Black Pearl” sounds good” said Marine.
“But there’s a ship called that already.” Tails said.
“Oh, all right, mate.” She kept thinking, and she eventually wondered: “Hey Tails, what they call those mythological foxes with more than one tail?”
“Kitsunes. Why?”
“I don’t know. I just…” she then smiled “I think I know what to call this Spatial vessel!”
“What?”
“How about the “Purple Kitsune”?” asked Marine.
“Cool! But why Purple? This ship isn’t even purple.”
“I like purple, mate.”
“Okay, then it’s the Purple Kitsune!” said Tails.
“Now we need a crew” said Marine.
“I can get that” said Tails.
“Well, that would be cool, mate. I wouldn’t be very happy about having to find people myself.”
Tails grabbed his flower and raced off to find Sonic.
